Learnings from this process feed ongoing program development, stakeholder engagement strategy, and external CSR reporting. In addition, this becomes the basis for choosing targeted projects that align to broader organizational strategy.

CSR Reporting

Multinational companies and prominent brands have come to understand the value in proactive communication, especially as it relates to a company’s potential social and environmental impact. BSI’s approach to CSR reporting looks both externally to understand potential stakeholders and their needs, and internally at company operations. In line with our approach to program design, we focus on disciplined goal-setting, international frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and UN Guiding Principles to Business and Human Rights, and also regulatory disclosure requirements such as the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the UK Modern Slavery Act.   

Crisis Response Plan and Communication

It is too late to plan after a crisis has arisen. Resilient organizations proactively identify threats, establish systems to mitigate risks, and prepare for a variety of worst-case scenarios, based on probability and potential impact. Our experience developing standards related to risk management (BS ISO 31000 and BS 31100), crisis management (BS 11200), and business continuity (BS ISO 22301) provide the framework to organize proactive development of systems, as well as reactive responses to risks that do arise.

Our Advisors work with your team to establish consistent and scalable due diligence practices in advance of crisis, as well as escalation plans to increase the organization’s level of control when events strike. Along with processes, roles, and information requirements, our Advisors focus on the tone, content and requirements of both internal and external communication.

We incorporate current threat information gathered in SCREEN in order to develop scenarios to use during the planning and strategy sessions. These scenarios are also used to smoke-test ranges of responses developed throughout the process.
